I came up with this #freestyle drill today. #swimdrills seriously, try this kick drill.
This works to create the proper timing for freestyle. Your kick and hands all have to work together, like clockwork. You've probably used 2-4-6 beat kicks but have you tried a 1/3 beat kick. Kick on foot every third stroke. You'll have to speed up your arm turnover during the non-kick strokes to keep good body position. You can really feel where your hands should be during the down phase of your single leg kick.
